Enrique Sánchez (Mexican, 1940)

Enrique Sánchez captures the Light of the Valley of Mexico in a unique way.

Studies in the La Esmeralda Academy of the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes in Mexico City where he lives since. In the following years, he becomes an art and painting teacher and continues exploring several painting techniques.

In the 70’s, he travels for a year to Europe with his wife and children where he makes numerous exhibitions and successfully sells the artworks that he paints from city to city. He comes back with his family to Mexico City where he starts to paint the Valley of México as one of the main subjects of his paintings. Studies the landscape with a firm discipline until he achieves to capture the absolute beauty of the volcanoes and the important mountains of Mexico and the world. With a strict realism and singular quality he also captures the live city, with deep skies where the shaded clouds seem to slide with the wind.

His career as an artist transcends when his landscapes are discovered by collectors becoming the best landscape artist that Mexico has given in our times. With commissioned works for important companies such as Grupo Sare, Papelera San Rafael, to name some, his works are part of notable collections. One of the most important commissioned works was executed for Banpais in New York City. A striking landscape of Mexico City created in great format almost mural. His paintings have been part of important Latin American art auctions in New York City and around the world.
